Weird txt messages

A few days ago, 23rd December I think, I got a txt message from someone saying Happy Xmas. Their number is not in my phonebook therefore I don't know who it it. I replied back asking who they were, but got no response until xmas night saying they hoped I had a good day. I replied asking who they were yet again, but go no response. I've since had a few more txt's from them asking what I got for xmas and where I'm going for new years day. I asked them what they got for xmas and where they're going for new year, and they've replied telling me, but they are not saying who they are every time I ask. I've rang the number, but they don't respond.

What should I do next? Not respond, or persist further trying to find out who they are? The messages they send are not nasty at all, they're just like having a normal conversation with someone.

Well I'd personally be a bit wary. Do you know how much these texts could be costing you?

- What did you get for christmas?

Well you're gonna reply, ain't ya?

And that's how you get charged.
Though I could be wrong of course. First time for everything.

Well the txt's are just costing me the standard 02 rate for payg, I've been checking that. They're coming from an 07815 number. They seem to like txt'ing at 12 - 1am early hours, tho I have the phone switched off. When I reply, I dont get there reply for quite some hours after, if not the next day. Its really freaky!!

Well, I must admit I would be a bit disturbed.

I am a bit puzzled. Maybe its someone you met on a drunk night out where you woke up on a roundabout on the M5?

I haven't give my mobile number out recently, like in the last couple of months at least to my knowledge. It's probably someone I've known in the past, like some weird lass. I think the next message I get I will just reply saying not to contact me anymore if they're nor prepared to tell me who they are. There's no point in having a conversation with an anonymous txt'er

Shove the number in the local phone box, entitled "Lusty Linda" or "Sultry Suzie".

Easiest solution is just to ignore the texts.
You'll then probably find the messages dry up.
Its most likely somebody sending texts to somebody else who has a similiar mobile number to yourself. Because there's so many mobile phones now, virtually any number you care to mention is almost guaranteed to make contact with somebody so it only takes one wrong number entered to send it somewhere else.

I agree that it could simply be a wrong number. Another option is that you have a recycled number, and this is someone who hasn't contacted the previous owner of the number for some time.
