Is it wise to do so? I got no sleep last night but I'm wondering whether to catch up on it now or tonight.

Tonight definitely. You will feel hellish later tonight when you can't get any sleep. Been there and done that!

Sleeping during the day can be death. People normally sleep in blocks of 3-4 hours, and waking up earlier than this can leave you more tired. Also, if you do sleep for a block chances are you won't in the evening!

The trick is to go to bed for about 45 minutes, to allow you to rest up but importantly not falling into a deep sleep/REM etc, which occurs after this period. Commonly known as "power napping".

Only if you don't wake up again.

Now see i've never had a problem sleeping during the day. It's other people that have a problem with me sleeping during daylight hours. I doze off for a couple of hours, wake up, feel like shit and go back to sleep for another couple of hours. Even my cats envy me. I try not to sleep during the day too often.

I can't do power napping, it's all or nothing with me.

I'm the opposite of an insomniac.

In the holidays my sleeping habits get soo bad!

I always stay up watching tv./on computer, pushing the hour I retire to bed, I ended up going to bed at seven of the clock - a.m., at the end of the holiday!

In fact, I got like that half way through aswell. There was a P.G.L. holiday I went on, so I got back to normal during that, then I stayed up again. I stayed up all day on the first day of the holiday, (after I'd stayed-up all night) and went to bed at a late time there. Didn't feel overwhelmingly tired then though. In my dorm., they went to bed at something like three a.m., every night. I ended up moving (downgrading) into a tent!

On the turn of the year, I woke up, at the normal time on New Year's Eve', then went to sleep at my normal time, on the second!

Does your mum know you stayed up that late?

I'm terrible during holidays from work.. I gradually start going to bed later and later in the evening (or early morning) and getting up later and later the following day. I love taking adavantage of being able to just wake up when I'm ready to, but getting up in time to catch the end of Countdown or Deal or No Deal is a bit worrying!
