I thought I would provide you with my insights, as an analyst, into the latest elections for the Senate and House of representatives.
It seems, at this point, the Republicans can keep control of the senate, however the democrats should gain the house of reprasentatives.
The democrats will also gain several Governors.
More will be known in the next half hour/hour, but for now these conclusions seem a pretty safe bet.
So, am I the only one waiting up for the results?

Democrats have taken the House of Representatives.
Republicans will hold Senate, one marginal (Virginia) still to be called, either 3/4 gains for Democrats.
Democrats gain several governors. Polls close in 2 mins in California, and it appears The Terminator might be in trouble.

The two independent senators are to sit with Democrats. This means that if the Democrats gain Virginia (they are gaining on it), as well as arizona, montanna or Tenesee, there will be a hung senate,
49 Republicans + Cheney
48 Democrats + 2 Independents

I think there is little doubt that BIG H will be the next president.
I'm tipping Jeb Bush for after that (he has just stepped down as state governor).

I think they'll probably end up being with Hillary Clinton as president in 2008, and David Cameron will be prime minister in or before 2009, giving us a sort of inverted take on the Thatcher/Reagan relationship of the 1980's. That is, if Cameron supports her, seeing as he has a lot of footage of Republican John McCain on Webcameron.

IIRC, The Vice-President can only use his casting vote in the event of a tie.
So, if the Democrats gain Virginia:
49 Republicans against 48+2 Democrats = Democrat majority.
(Of course, this relies on the assumption that the 2 independents will always vote with the Democrats)
