If I have to take off my crash helmet before I go into a bank so that the security cameras can see my face, I fully expect Muslim women to do the same with veils.

PM with Eddie Mair was once again excellent yesterday when he gave the Muslim spokeswoman enough rope to hang herself. He let her say that Jack Straw had been "demanding" the removal of veils at least twice before accusing her of trying to provoke a much greater reaction - pointing out that there is a great difference between a demand and a request and asking her why she'd used the word "demand" until she had no reply on that subject. She remained unapologetic and inflammatory.

Where's all this heading?

Wrong way round - EVERYBODY should wear a veil when going into a bank. And if they insist on you showing your face to the cameras, you should demand to know exactly what they're acusing you of, get it in writing, and sue the fuckers for defamation.

It really *was* a slow news day yesterday, that story and the one about a police officer getting an assignment switched were hardly newsworthy.
