- I'm getting fed up with every sodding programme on TV being turned into a debate about how Muslims feel persecuted

- I'm fed up of Muslims taking offence at the slightest criticism of their religion, despite every other religion in the world being the butt of many (much worse) jokes

- I'm getting fed up with the views of Muslims being given more airtime on TV than the views of non-Muslims

- I'm getting fed up of Muslims hijacking John Reid's speech, accusing him of entering "Muslim areas" of Britain and making out that all non-Muslims are out to get Muslims

- I'm getting fed up that, upon voicing this opinion, I am perceived to be racist, despite sharing these views with the VAST majority of people I know


Why on Earth must we pussy foot around when discussing Islam, when this does not apply to any other religion? Despite being the tolerent guy that I am, I am absolutely sick to death of hearing about how all Muslims are discriminated against when, from experience, it seems that those who do the most the attempt to integrate Muslims with the rest of the UK are non-Muslims. The protester who heckled John Reid spoke of "Muslim areas of Britain" and how Mr Reid was not welcome to it. Excuse me! The gentleman who protested is EXACTLY what the problem is - he would rather Muslims and non-Muslims had nothing to do with each other but sorry, in this country that's not how it works.

Come on, shoot me down in flames, call me racist, but all I want is for everyone to just get on with each other. Us Britons are tolerent people, I'm sick of having the finger of blame pointed at us all the time when we DO bend over backwards as it is to accommodate the needs of people of other faiths, maybe it is about time Islam as a whole became more tolerent of other faiths themselves.

I have nothing against the faith or Muslims (excluding the terrorists obviously) but the press attention is getting quite annoying now. There seems to be something about it on the news every night. It's coming to the stage where people cannot voice their opinions because of fear.

The vast majority of Muslims are law abiding citizens who probably disagree with the terrorism. There are just a few who give the faith a bad name.

Thank you, that is exactly what I'm getting at. The problem is, the law-abiding majority are beginning to cry foul at the criticism of extremism (that rolls off the tongue!) and it is being taken as criticism of their religion. As I said, the British are very tolerent, and it would be nice for some of this tolerence to be reciprocated for once, instead of being made out to be the bad guys in all this.

It's a weak attempt by feeble-minded politicians to convince us that there are "reds under the bed" and we need protecting from them.

This is nothing more than a good old-fashioned witch-hunt.
