Well..... Look at it. Would you fall that? Do you fall for that? Can someone tell me why
advertisers think we'll fall for those sorts of adverts?

Well I don't, and I'm sick of them. They look very cheap, tacky and the flashing ones
are even worse.

It is surprising the number of people who do fall for these fake window ads. Not everybody knows that it's fake.

They could have at least updated it to look like XP.

It's usually a "You've won $1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000!!!!!!!" affair.

Jovis cannot accept any responsibility for any telephone calls made to the 999 switchboard concerning garden gnomes. Please do not ring 999 asking for garden gnomes. It is not big, and it is not clever.

I remember my days as an IT trainer, teaching adults basic internet skills. Try explaining to someone who until 7 weeks had never sat at a computer, that what they are clicking on might look like the kind of box/button affair they have been clicking on for weeks but is actually a very poorly designed GIF image linked to a con site. The students reply? "Oh I see... it's a con is it? OK, I'll click the 'X' in the corner instead to close it..." :P
Which is of course, just what they want you to do.

EDIT: Well I look stoopid now because it was jigging about like a pneumatic drill when I saw it on an actual webpage.

EDIT OF AN EDIT: I look even stoopider cus it is moving now.

EDIT OF AN EDIT OF AN EDIT: Well sometimes it moves and sometimes it does not.
