Windows Update

I'm sitting here waiting for "Microsoft Update" to find me some updates and all I get is "Checking for the latest updates for your computer...". Does this actually work or is just a very very very long process?

Microsoft Update as opposed to Windows Update can take an inordinate length of time to sort out what it needs to.
Have a coffee and wait a bit longer!

I just tried Microsoft Update a moment ago and it took about 10 seconds to show any updates.

I'm on a 500MHz processor and the lovely little green blobs march acrosss the screen for about twenty minutes before anything comes up.
Do it on a Wednesday, which is the usual issue day for updates, and go off and have tea (the whole meal) while it runs, like I do.
