Scottish/Northern Irish resurgence?

Two wins out of two for Scotland.
Assuming England qualifies, it would be brilliant to have Scotland in the finals with us.
What's the feeling north of the border about your chances?

Brief tangent, just to say...
Northern Ireland 3 - 2 Spain
You can keep David Beckham, I'd rather have David Healy anyway. If you didn't see the goals tonight, have a look. Even if you don't like football, you'll enjoy watching.
Did someone mention Iceland? I know nothing about that.

Yay!
I was chuffed when I heard that result, marksi.
I am old enough to remember Northern Ireland whipping Spain in the 1982 World Cup - I was only 9 then! I support all the home nations and I remember jumping for joy when NI won. Coming from a Catholic family, that provoked an interesting response!
But what was losing 3-0 to Iceland all about? If only NI could find form, you'd be in Euro 08 too.

I was there on Saturday... ahem... well... hoarse throat on Saturday night.
I was there tonight... I'm just very glad I'm not due back in work for another 2 weeks!
Sir David Healy, I salute you!

We haven't got David Beckham anymore. We have John Terry and Peter Crouch instead. Only 2 years for the European Cup.
Not that i like footie much. It would be great if Wales, Scotland, Ireland and England all qualify for the next World cup. Imagine a quarter finals with all four teams fighting it out. England still wouldn't win it though.

Well done to the lads, I was gutted they lost at home to Iceland so it's quite a turnaround.
I hope Lawrie can be persuaded to stay on as a manager - on the whole he has reinvigorated the team, got them well up in the world rankings and while they may not win every game, when they win, boy do they win...
Like the way there have been calls in NI for "Healy Day" on the first Wednesday of September each year - an excuse for another bank holiday?

As pissed off as I am about England's results this week, I am chuffed that the Scots are doing well (other than tonight's performance).
Why am I scared that Scotland are the most likely of the Home Nations to qualify for Euro 2008?

I would argue that Norn Irn have boosted their serious chances of qualifying for them - if they can keep a cool head, not fall at any hurdles (like Iceland) and keep believing. It would be great for NI, as well as Scotland and the Republic to qualify.
