Recommended printers?

Hiyaaa, second thread in a day, I've come over all queer! I was wondering if anyone could recomment a decent all-round inkjet around the 50 quid mark, that's not too noisy and has cheap refills?
I did have an epson stylus c44 plus, but it's caused me so much anger over the psat 3 years, I destroyed it. So I've got a slightly bad feeling about going back to epson, does anyone have anything more recent than the C series?

Have you considered the compatible cartridges? They are a lot cheaper, last just as long and (never mind what Epson say) don't affect any warranties you had with your printer.
I have a DX3800 now I bought from the shop where I work. Not the best printer in the world but its an all-in-one unit printer, scanner and copier. The software complains bitterly about the cartridges not being genuine but one can't have everything.

Sorry, meant compatible cardridges! Epson do have that appeal, but I can't get over just how shit that last one I had was. It *was* cheap though, is it perhaps a poor representation?

my last epson was shockingly poor. shame really as they used to be decent.
I currently have a Lexmark all-in-one. It's from work and is priced at about £49 although I paid £20 for it as it was a faulty one. (In other words some moron bought it, used up all the photo paper and brought it back for a refund)
The cartridges are disgustingly expensive. Plus it comes with these half full ones (17/27) so you naturally buy those two. Although all they are, are the 16 and 26 with half the ink. Now WHS do their own ones it's much better.
I really do fancy a colour laser although can't afford one yet.
