Wireless Networking for Hymas

My retard friend has just flogged me his Belkin wireless router for like £15 as he's decided he doesn't need wireless. Who am I to argue.

Anyhow, to rid myself of the godawful phone extension I wish to get some wireless cards to use on my pootars.

I have two pootars in the house, firstly my fabulous self build bundle of orgasm and secondly, the three year old Tiny thing which the kids use.

Now I'm wanting if possible PCI cards although a dongle would do if it was a bargain. But I don't want shit. Oh no. I want quality, with G and WPI or whatever it's all called.

Now metropol, go forth, and shop for me as I can't be bothered.

95% of devices that run exclusively off USB power are cheap generally because they're crap and die easily. Examples include USB broadband modems (easily the worst offender as they complain if one has more than one USB device plugged in at the same time) and Bluetooth dongles, in lieu of the fact that Bluetooth is, IMO, also crap.

You'll be better off getting Wireless PCI network cards instead. They may cost slightly more BUT they'll last a lot longer than a dongle would.

yes, I've noticed how shoddy USB modems are as I gave my old frog to my mate as he has AOL broadband and whilst the BT shitehawk works fine with his iBook it made his PC have a heart attack.

Now their USB mouse is throwing a hissy fit as the modem is draining all the power.

With regards to my wireless network by the way, I bought a cheapy dabs.com £12 PCI card on monday night and it arrived this morning.

So now at last, I am free of the ugly extension lead and I have my router downstairs. I am now happy - like this > :D

That power thing is a speedtouch issue. Powered hub would sort it.
