Creating a Partition

Another thread in my long-growing computer-related topics.

I'm reading up on creating partitions on my hard drive for multiple operating systems, for educational purposes and simply because I can't remember what the oldies were like. I've come here for help because I have no idea were to start, and if I am going to finish, with going through this procedure.

Anybody got any help? Thanks.

Start: Back up everything. Unless you're buying posh software (ok, not THAT posh) you'll probably lose all your data in the process.

Okay, seeing as everyone else is leaving me to it.

First get yourself lots of four-by-two and plenty of plasterboard................

(Sorry, couldn't resist!)

Some of the older operating systems just don't want to know when you install them in this fashion.

Windows 95, 98 and ME were strictly designed to be the only operating system on the machine, though it was possible to have a dual-boot configuration with Linux but it was never going to be possible to have Win95 and/or 98 and/or ME on the computer together, though if you want to have Win2k, XP and 98 on the same system, you can.

I misjudged you, Reeves - I was expecting to open the thread and find that you wanted to create a 'Bring Back News at Ten' partition for us all to sign!
