Now never one to jump on a bandwagon, but how about we have a World Cup sweepstake here at Metropol.

We all do them in offices - but here it'd just be for a bit of fun and I'm sure there's 32 of you willing to risk having Iran.

But how do we draw teams over the internet I hear you cry? Well I propose that a crack team of Metropolers consisting of Gavin Scott, Nick Harvey and Sput - make a pilgramage to Hull to make the draw LIVE on the Peter Levy show.

Or failing that I will pick teams at random out of a hat on webcam!

Come on, it'd be fun - and I'll have whatever team is left in the hat at the end.

Don't miss out on this ONCE in a lifetime opportunity.

Will I have to understand the offside rule?

If so, we're stymied.

Understanding of the offside rule not required. In fact very little interest in football at all really.

But I'm not one to let a good idea pass...

If Michael Vaughan comes back as captain, I'll have England.

I suspect the sad majority (of the country) WILL.

I suspect the sensible majority (of Metropol) will NOT.

I'm working Saturday, but shall have a telly on mute in t' studio.

Week Thursday however I plan to be down the local with the big screen.

It's not like 2002 - and of course, the Rugby WC in 2003 - where you could enjoy the novelty of being ratted in your local by 10am.
