The hours are hardly any more anti-social than mine are, and I have good mates in the police, both in NI and in London. Wouldn't be an issue for me at all.

Errrm!!! Ummmm!!! Er! Well you know they have this er, habit of um making me feel um guilty when i've err done nuffing wrong. Honest officer it wasn't me i'm just his mate.

I've nothing against coppers accept for when they arrest me or pull me over, for no reason at all. Just never fancied one. Oh that's a lie.

I very much doubt it would bother me. I have friends and friends-of-friends who are coppers, and generally speaking down at the pub they are just ordinary blokes (and women).

Like marksi says, the hours aren't particularly any more unsociable than many other jobs these days, and I find it actually comes in pretty handy having friends who know the law (so I know how to get away with breaking it! ;) )

The only real reservation I would have is fearing for their safety at work, but that is largely unfounded as statistically there are much more dangerous jobs out there.

Plus I like the uniform. Did I say that out loud?
