i saw this in a scrap yard in stowbridge (which is miles away from anywhere - i use this route as a shortcut to stay off busy parts of the a10 some mornings) and is right on the west anglia main line from kings lynn to kings cross (via cambridge). it seemed to be used as a site office.

i just found it quite strange it would end up in this country (rather than being scrapped in ireland which surely would be cheaper), and strange of all, is a very small scrap yard in the middle of nowhere!

Ahh... i've seen this a few times whilst on the train, and it always struck me as pretty baffling.

There's a Leeds University Radio van around that area too.

God bless Norfolk.

Is it maybe because Norfolk is actually Hell? Maybe the van killed someone or something, and it's being condemned to an eternity there.

The logo is still alive and well... I spotted it yesterday on one of those backgrounds they use for football interviews after matches, when Alex Ferguson was interviewed on UTV.

Chances are some company on the mainland bought it and stripped all the kit out of it and sold off the van for scrap.

After all, UTV don't need it, they don't make any programmes. Well, hardly any.

Reminds me when I saw a car at a small dodgy garage covered in Big Breakfast vinyls, in the deepest Black Country

Are you saying what I think you're saying about Mr Lobster?

Fight, fight, fight, fight!

What, you mean Dr. Lucifer Lobster, to call him by his full name?

That Doctor Lucifer had better not come back from his weekend away saying he's been in York Minster.

I'm not sure he's welcome within the walls of any of my property portfolio.

Fancy taking a Sunday off, anyway. Typical of Norfolk people; it wouldn't happen in Wiltshire.

To add to the further bizarre nature of Norfolk... I am currently sitting on the top floor of the UEA Library, looking out on to the parkland and forests around the campus.

A huge hot air balloon with ''HTV'' in the 1990s era 'v-triangle' logo design has just taken off from one of the fields past the lake.

Is Norfolk some sort of ident retirement ground?
