Odd Basket

i captured this collection of products put onto the till belt by the person behind me:
6 boxes of tesco value tissues
8 pints of milk
48 aa batteries
1 jar of lemon curd
this is probably on my list of the funniest things i've seen purchased in one go. i did see a few weeks ago (it might have been in asda) a couple of foreign lads with a trolly filled with several massive six pint bottles of milk, white bread and a crate of cheap lager.
what are the strangest things you've witnessed being purchased in one go?

Don't be silly. They are quite clearly making a battery controlled papier mache wasp trap in good time for the summer.
It's strange you should post this now, because today in ASDA we saw a bloke at the checkout with a basket that contained nothing but hot dog sausages and bread rolls. What made it more interesting was that he had a variety of each - tinned, plastic packaged, the cheap value variant, the better than the rest variant, in brine, out of brine, flavoured, non-flavoured etc etc.
Didn't get a picture though.

Look at all those boxes of tissues. Obviously they must have qutie a few teenage boys in the house.
I did see the other day some woman at Sainsbury's piling her trolley with 24 pack crisps that were on a BOGOF. Literally half her trolley was made out of these - and it reminded me of the Tampax advert where the women started to pile their trollies full of sanitary products, emptying the shelves in the process.
I did have a camera on me but I didn't take a photo, since I was in a bit of a rush, and secondly, are you allowed to take photos inside shops with a standalone camera (which is a little more obvious than a camera phone)?

Technically you must have the manager's permission to take any photos in a store, but with camera phone's there's always the "who the hell's gonna notice" argument. When it comes to actual made-for-purpose cameras, however I tend to stick firmly to the "legging it" argument, taught by some of my lecturers at uni.
Then why can BBC Watchdog film the insides of (unscrupulous) traders using secret video footage?

because that is "in the public interest", whilst this is just interesting.

Why do I go into Tesco intending to buy food for the week and usually end up buying a copy of Private Eye, some CD-R's and tupperware type boxes?!
And... what happened to the set price fry-up in the cafe?

My shopping list from a couple of weeks ago:
100 Marlboro lights
28 cans of lager
5 bottles of mini moet
and 2 ready roasted chickens
All in all the bill came to around £65, and a good night was had by all
