you can't help but notice this story is doing the rounds on the news channels at the moment, but is it me or does this whole 'splitting up' stunt seem like a great big load of nonsense to either conceal or obfuscate tessa jowell's naivety and/or deception?

Whether that huge input of money, from an Italian direction, was a business payment, a gift or a bribe, surely you tell your wife about a figure that huge in something less than a number of years?
The moment I heard about how long it took him to get round to telling her about it, I assumed there was very little left in the relationship.
The sooner she "does a Kennedy" the better, in my opinion, stupid woman.

And take Bible-bashing Blair with her, too.
God told me to write that.

No I didn't.
I told you to invade Carmarthenshire.

I was very amused by something on GMTV my mum told me about the other day.
Penny Smith interviewing possibly a friend of Tessa Jowell (is this possible?) and the bloke, whoever it was, said it must just have been a case of her husband forgetting to tell her.
Penny remarked, what, forgetting to tell your wife you've just been paid £450k to pay off your mortgage?

I'm not really up to date with this story as i don't get as much time for t.v, pootah, reading at the mo ( Domestic crisis- long, long story). The general gist i have is she signed for a loan for the value of half the property and it's somehow involved an Italian MP/ diplomat thingy and ended up paying off their mortage. At the time i thought bloody hell if my fella asked me sign a bit of paper regarding the mortage and loans i'll be asking him a hundred and one questions and then to end up with enough cash to pay off the mortage i'd be rather suspicious to say the least. There is no way she's that naive, not a woman of that calibre, she's alot cleverer than me.
Anyway feel free to educate me on this episode, so i know what you're all talking about properly.

Tonight's Bremner, Bird and Fortune on Four had a lot to say on this subject.
Some of it appeared to have been recorded this afternoon, unless they had prior (presumably embargoed) knowledge of the marriage split up.

There was certainly a good lot of stuff that referred to the Blair/Parky interview in tonight's programme.
