They seem to have ditched the Sensations branding aswell, and dumped these flavours in the main product line along with cheese and onion etc. This means there is a hugely confusing array of subtly differently coloured bags. They have made up for this, in fairness, by plastering the flavour over the bag in huge writing.

I recently sent a letter calling them to honour their quality guarantee because the quality of the Sensations product did not adequatly reflect the quality suggested by the packaging. I also moaned about the presence of flavour enhancers in their premium products. What did I get back? A stock-ish looking letter with no refund and a pathetic list of products!

Upon further inspection it does state that the bag should be returned by post as well, probably only to inconvenience disillusioned Walkers customers.

Walkers has been all "to do with lays crisps" since Pepsico bought the company - in 1989.

is this change affecting just their generic potato crisps, or are the other brands like doritos and the like changing too?

Do you remember throughout much of the 1990s Walkers Crisps always seemed to have either an Instant Win promotion (bank notes inside the packs) or those free 'Tazo' things inside. They pretty much ran back-to-back - when one promotion ended another one began.

Yet they haven't done anything like that for quite a few years now, except the 'Win an iPod Mini' last year where you had to text in the code.

It was such a good brand you forgot the name of it

They're owned by the same company... and companies seem to like this "let's make all our worldwide brands look the same" thing.

cf.
Wall's - Unilever Ice cream
Abbey - Banco Santander
Midland Bank (after the griffin, before the renaming) - HSBC

Cor, they've brought back cheese crisps. Haven't seen them since the 70's!
