Classical Music

as some of you may know, january 27th marks mozart's 250th birthday and whilst the composer has been a recluse in recent years his music is still everywhere.
so, what are your all time favourite pieces of classical music?
from mozart himself, the turkish march is my personal favourite, closely followed by eine kleine nacht music.
and there is also something magical about beethoven's moonlight sonata.
but my all time favourite classical composer has to be tchaikovsky. swanlake and the nutcracker are simply beautiful suites and i often listen to them whilst working.
my favourite movements from the nutcracker are waltz of the flowers and dance of the sugar plum fairy.
from swanlake the waltz from sleeping beauty is amazing.
and of course, who could forget peter and the wolf?

The Hebrides Overture from young Mr Mendles John, I think.
Lots of everything, from totally calm to the utmost of the other extreme.
Somewhere close to second would come The Hall of The Mountain King, from Mr Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite.

This is a bit personal (in a weird way). This is what I would sound like if I were a piece of music. That probably doesn't make sense, but that's me all over.

Beethoven's Fur Elise. Add your own umlaut.
Also Mahler's Fifth Symphony, to which the film Death in Venice is beautifully choreographed by Visconte, and Delibe's Coppelia.

The problem I have with classical music is that I always end up missing or forgetting the name of any particular piece, so I end up recognising the music but being unable to put a name to it, or confusing it with another piece.
I love Zadok the Priest though (and the UEFA theme based upon it
)

Classical Music is my favourite style of music, after that is Chillout. Most of the classical music I listen to is movie soundtrack score. At the moment my favorite piece is from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - "Buckbeaks Flight" its so sad and poignent (spl?)
