Does anyone know how to send a message to another computer on the network using their IP address, preferably from a Mac.

Between PCs, you go Start > Run; cmd; OK.

Type "net send (ip) (msg)" and press enter.

Many PCs however have this feature disabled because it's immensely irritating.

indeed, windows xp sp 2 disabled this service by default and if the firewall is turned on it won't work anyway.
