Looking for the names and titles of these bits of music

OK I've been rummaging through a pile of old tapes and recordings on my computer. Some of these clips come from a video recorder with dodgy mono sound, and the others have been recorded from radio/TV. So, a wide variety of sources - but all have one thing in common. I want to know what the bits of music are called and who they are by.

First up is this BT advert from around Christmas 1997. You can tell it's from around then because they're using pagers (remember them ;) and BT Internet is used on that computer).

Secondly, there's this piece of background music used in Smart of the road.

Thirdly, there's a piece of end music used on the Commonwealth Games in 1998.

At number four, there's the backing musicthat Pete and Geoff are using during their podcasts. Now I don't listen to P&G, or indeed, any radio breakfast show in the morning. And if I do it's usually Terry Wogan or Chris Moyles (sorry P&G, Johnny Vaughan et al).

At six, there's a piece of jazzy stylee music that was played on the Steve Wright oldies slot a while back. Steve Wright, being Steve Wright didn't bother to back-announce the song (ah, not much difference there, then).

At seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven and twelve are some pieces of music that are pretty much used more or less every year on the BBC's coverage of the London Marathon.

Number 13 features a piano piece that was used (in the clip) of some footballers' programme on BBC 1. The same piano piece used to be heard on a BBC News trail. Finally at number 14, there's a piece of classical music used often on football programmes or describing the toil during the World War.

Thanks in advance for any help which you may give in tracking down these pieces of music. I've tried to be as descriptive and helpful as possible, unlike some people who make requests for music - like Mr BB-Gnome cam bloke.

Also, please right click and download these files. Do not attempt to stream them in media players!

:)

Well I'll tell you now, without even listening to the clip, the Pete and Geoff music is the theme from Black Beauty. They always use it.

No 6, the jazzy Steve Wright music is "Pick up the Pieces" by the Average White Band. It was a hit in the 70s I think.

Song 9 - London Marathon 3 is "Do I Do" by Stevie Wonder

Seven is a cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Everywhere", by (I think) Chaka Khan.

Unidentified piano pieces are always "God Moving Over The Face Of The Waters" by Moby... and number thirteen is no exception.

Ooh - thanks for the replies so far. :D

Thing is though, that some of these bits of music are are proving rather illusive to find, especially the Lena Fiagbe one. Gah - why do they choose such obscure songs for adverts?

Keep 'em coming!
