I received this e-mail today from supposedly, PayPal. The image below is said e-mail.



When hovering over links/images, they lead you here.

Somebody please tell me what the hell's going on?! I don't even have a PayPal account, we all know about phishing and we aren't stupid enough to just dole out our credit card details. I don't even have one!

Don't click the link it is most probably a virus, one was going around about six months ago where they were asking people to re-enter in their credit card details.

However that's just a guess

Forward it to [email protected] then delete it.

On a lighter note, it's interesting that that particular item has a "handling fee".

You might want to delete that link to stop people clicking on it - the page it takes you to has a Java trojan embedded in it, Trojan.ByteVerify, which will install automatically if you don't have antivirus software installed.

As Mark's said, forward it to Paypal with full email headers so they can investigate it further.

i get a lot of these; especially ones about verifying your account; they always have links which resolve to an ip address or some obscure domain.

I get lots of these from Ebay on a regular basis. One thing to note from Ebay is that anything they send out always starts with a https:// where as all this spam stuff starts with just http:// Ok, probably not the most definitive of advice but something to watch out for.
