London Terrorist Attacks. 7th July 2005. At time of writing, 3 exploded buses, numerous London tube bombings, 90 casualties at least, at least 20 dead. Horrible news. This is scaring the shit out of me given that me and half my family are all over London today.

Very good advice. I'm expecting the Metropol mob to start lighting the torches next!

Apparently it has been on Confirmed:
*Al-Qaeda admitted responability
*Two people confirmed dead
*The incident at Edgware road involved two trains passing, one had the bomb on it.
*Whole LUL & DLR network closed
However reports keep changing constantly
This is the affected stations:
A very sad day indeed

Conveniently timed for the controversy over ID cards. Just as were the bombings in Turkey when Dubya got a state visit, a helpful reminder about the "war on terror".
If these terrorists are such evil masterminds, why on earth do they time their attacks when it serves their enemies better?

Yes, well not to turn this into a political debate (as there will be time for that later); Bush has already said, "This just shows how the war on terror must go on".
Would that be similar to the war on Iraq, which he claimed was about, "terror"?
I'm sickened by these attacks, but let's be very careful who we rush to bomb as a consequence.

Let's face it, the government's case for ID cards is
sooo much stronger in the wake of today's attacks. If they had already been in use, the following would almost certainly have happened...
POLICEMAN: Ello ello ello, now then Sir, your skin has a distinct brown hue. Maybe I could see your ID card...
TERRORIST: Why of course Officer, here it is...
POLICEMAN (reading from card): 'Al Quaeda Terrorist' eh? It's down to the station with you Sonny Jim - you're nicked!
TERRORIST: Foiled again!
...and we'd all be safe.

The details appear to be sketchy as to who has coordinated these attacks but ITN and the BBC seem to be pointing the finger at Al-Qaeda.

dont get me wrong, i dont like duhbyah, but all the same, i think as long as he goes after the terrorists, which in my view he *so* isnt by the way, he's doing the right thing. but i didnt vote for him either time, and am bloody proud of that fact. do not paint all americans with the "stupid" brush

EDIT: the above wasnt meant to be an attack on you gavin. i was just venting
