Is it me, or do Digital Spy moderators rule with an iron fist?
I've just been banned from said site for no reason. They didn't even bother to send me an email saying I'd been banned - the first I noticed of it was when I found that I couldn't log onto the main forum, and when I logged out it said "banned user" under my pseudonym in the topics that I'd posted.
I've not spammed the place, deliberately picked arguments with others or done any of the hundreds of other "Digital Spy sins". Well, not that I know of anyway.
Has anyone else been banned from DS in the past, and if so, what for?
I assume this is a temporary ban as I've never been banned before.

The DS moderating team are very strict, especially Beth Hart. So far, out of my 400ish posts, I have not yet got in trouble.
I suppose, with a site of that size and popularity, you have to be that strict to avoid it getting out of control.
I suppose the warnings from radio stations recently requesting for discussion about them (such as Radio Carms) to stop has not help. It has obviously pissed some people off and I think the mods have been good about it as they have not banned that many people for it.

I had a similar problem with Digital Spy in the distant past. Additionally, I also had a bizarre incident where I kept receiving emails telling me that my username was "Gizmo" or something similarly tragic. When I emailed the DS moderators, explaining that I'd never signed up as "Gizmo", and that they had previously cancelled my previous membership to the site for no obvious reason, I was told I was mistaken, and that I obviously had signed up as "Gizmo" and must have forgotten about it.
I responded in kind by telling them where they could shove their Gizmo.
Incidentally, I'm not sure why, but when I tried to sign up to Metropol with my "leisure" email address, I discovered that it had been banned. No idea why.

if your leasure address is a hotmail, yahoo and a couple of other free web mail accounts, the domains are generically banned, so it isn't you - its just one of those things to prevent abuse, much like at tvf (which doesn't seem to have worked now new registrations are enabled again)

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but a "scandal" is erupting at the moment.
Two members of Digital Spy, 'sat_man' (who practically knows everything about Sky and is very useful) and 'beckys_mom' have both been banned for events in the 'Most Haunted' thread. They didn't like the programme so they tried to get their point across but it got a bit heated. So as a result, they are both banned. So a 11 page thread is going on in 'General Discussion' about it.
Surely a member like 'sat_man' who is very useful should have a warning instead.

Apart from the more tech oriented areas, DS Forums are dreadful. I can't bring myself to read them.
Even the banter is shit.
