What do people think about the "bling bling" craze for guys - chains and rings and things?
What does everyone on here wear and those who don't wear jewellery why not?
Gold or silver?
Does jewellery look gay etc?

Hi Joe, how's your baby?

I don't wear jewellery (apart from a watch) myself, but I think the whole "Michael Carroll" trend of wearing jewellery makes you look like a chavvy prat.

Here's a photo to illustrate my meaning (excuse the choice pose) : -

In a nutshell, wear jewellery sparingly.

Just look at Bobby George - he pulls off the bling thing magnificently.

As does Sir Jimmy Saville.

But do you not think a discrete chain or ring looks good on a guy?

A (small) silver chain that is just about visible in the neck of a t-shirt is about the only chain jewellery a guy can get away with IMO. And maybe a simple plain or designed silver or gold ring.

But God help them if they *need* to wear thick gold chains or fat sovereign rings.

Ah!! Jewellery, one of my favourite subjects.
As i've got older i am wearing less jewellery. I now love dress jewellery, there is some really pretty, hippy jewellery available now. It's really quite classy compared the 80's type of dress jewellery < shudders at the memories>.
My bloke is a bit of a snob where jewellery is concerned and hates my hippy shit ( as he calls it). He is a big bloke and can wear the big bracelets and diamond rings and earrings etc. I prefer to keep it simple.
I see loads of lads with the chav look like Michael Carroll and they all think they are 'ard, when really, they are such tossers. As i get to cut their hair i get a closer inspection of their bling. So far i've discovered that the chains are hollow ( because solid ones would be waaay too heavy for their scrawny necks) and Sssh!! they're not real diamonds ( don't let the chav's hear me say that). I can spot a fake a mile off. I own enough of them

Michael Carroll no doubt owns genuine diamonds and solid gold, but he manages to make it look as cheap and tacky as the cheap immitations the 'ordinary' chavs wear.
And...
You'd be hard pushed to find a picture of Michael Carroll without him doing his middle finger salute.
