Hello there,

Just wondering what you all like in terms of music styles, if I've missed out a particular genre just remind me.

Indie/Alternative?

I've "ticked" World because I quite like the ethnic music from Turkey, Greece etc. Not really sure what heading it would come under!

I also quite like Jazz as well but I think I like loads of kinds of music around the same!

Indeed, this for me too, though as there isn't this option I've ploped for "Rock" as it's the kinda nearest thing.

I'd be interested to know what each category actually covers, they all seem to be merging together lately.
For example half the guests on Popworld could be described as Indie, Dance, Rock. Pop only seems to be used as a negative category

It seems I can't edit the poll to include Indie; for now, you can just select the nearest genre to whatever I've missed off.

Pop all the way kids! You can't fault the cheesy 80s stuff! Just proper music...

Thought you can't beat a bit of classic rock...

One is urged to say "cracking".
Good Lord!

Classic/prog rock, but not that generic mainstream tat you get these days. Cracking!

There is a large area of music I like which used to be cateogorised as "Easy Listening". This would include the likes of Abba, The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Elkie Brooks, etc.
These seem to go under "Pop" these days.
But what about the "Soundtracks" and the large expanse of "Instrumentals" that are not classical. Herb Alpert, Bert Kaempfert, Quincy Jones, Earl Klugh, Vangellis, John Barry, etc. ...and the TV Themes and the library music used as interval pieces and the test card. So much is so easily missed.

Didn't know so many on here liked rock! I'd favour World or TV Ident Music, mainly.
