If you left Britain where would you move to

This is inspired by Jamez' sick of Britain and consumerism thread.
I was wondering where else in the world you would rather live.

I just love Italy, the country is beautiful and has such a relaxed atmosphere. The people are friendly and the food is amazing. I could really see myself settling there.
My home would be a stones throw from the beach with my nearest neighbour a five minute walk away, have lime trees and paw paws growing in the garden and a vineyard a mile or so down the road.
I'd have a couple of dogs to add to pleasure of the long walks i'd go on, read, swim, potter in the garden and cook ( all the things i find theraputic really). I'd like to be self sufficient so i'd grow all my own fruit and veg and keep chickens so i could have fresh eggs every day.

The two things i don't like about the country is the little lizards and the way they drive.

I would NOT live in a country where little lizards drive cars. That is really quite hazardous.

I would probably live in Greece - it is like Italy but more Greek. Relaxed, usually sunny, great food and the ability to eat Greek yoghurt for breakfast without feeling as though you have not had a "proper" meal.

PMSL.. You know what i mean. You think we got some morons on our roads , you haven't seen nothing until you see the Italians drive. The lizards would probably be less hazardous

Other than London, I think New York is the only other place I would like to live.

Australia preferably as I have been there a few times and it is a beautiful country, or any of the countries where I can speak the language, so Spain, France or Germany will do me...

Definetely not USA as it is the land of fat and stupid people. If I go, As soon as I arrive there I would have been accused by anti-terrorist morons of doing something unamerican.

Apparently the people of Greece are the worst and most dangerous drivers in the world! More people die on Greek roads than any other country!

One of my friends is a Greek/Cypriot. He cannot drive. I am not sure whether this is representative of the entire population there, but there's a lot to be said for stereotyping.

Spain - late nights, siestas, food, relaxation

US/Canada/NZ/Australia - speak English, and are like England-updated

Scandinavia - Great welfare state, if very high taxes, like Saabs

Japan - Curiosity

But ideally I'd like to live on a Caribbean island somewhere, with not a care in the world.

Definately Australia - people are so much more friendly, there's so much more choice in the supermarkets - there's so many reasons I loved it so much that I can't remember them!
