Metropol

Earlier on I had a look at the Metropol member list. I was rather surprised to find myself sixth in the league of posting. I was intrigued to find myself so high in the list despite a relatively lengthy period of not being able to post. My conclusion is that I am officially spending too much time here.

I don't plan on changing that, but it adds to the realisation that I am, probably, a bit of a geek.

Another part of this realisation is my repressed urge to create a personal website. Until recently I thought they were a waste of time, and reserved largely for people who read books on SQL and Javascript. But now I think they're actually quite cool in a nice sort of way. I'm in the mood to create one of my own - but the difficult part is working out what the heck I should include.

So.

What things could I put on a personal website? Do you have a personal website? Have you come across any entertaining or interesting personal websites on your travels that you want to share with us?

This guy's website, (known as "Things my girlfriend and I have argued about"), was so funny and well observed he got a book out of it.

That is quite spooky - only the other day did I come across that site! Very entertaining read, and much of it feels strangely familiar.

I'm just behind you in the Total Post count, and that's only since I had my membername changed exactly a year ago! My total posts are probably around the 1,500 mark, but still, 760 posts in 12 months is still quite a lot for a relatively quiet forum like this one!

Although my total post doesn't reflect the fact that I log onto the internet via mobile technology, so I'm not always constantly glued to my computer! (If I were, I would have aquired a few more chins and more jeans with a bigger waist size by now!)
