OK, here is the background:

September 2004: Steve, Jeremie (he's a french fuckwit), Tyrone & Me move into our student house. There is no TV licence.

November 2004: After a couple of licence reminder letters, Steve suggests that he transfers his old licence from his old address to our one. The licence ran out in March 2005.

April 2005: We get threatening letters from the TV licence people again.

---NOTE: Only Tyrone & me have televisions in our rooms. There is no TV in the living room as we dont use that room (apart from to do laundry and store boxes!---

May 21st 2005: Tyrone has gone home for the summer, and I'm leaving this house in 3 weeks time, as are Steve & Jeremie.

May 23rd 2005: After more letters, the TV licence people visited my house today, when I happend to be out. I'm now the only person in my house with a TV, and I'm leaving here in 3 weeks time.

What do I do? The licence people are coming back again on Friday (according to the note they pushed through the door!)

I'm not forking out £126 for just 3 weeks telly viewing. anyway, I haven't even GOT £126, so they can take me to court if they like.

What do I do though?!

Hide the TV at a friend's house on friday? Or de-tune the set and tell them you only use it for watching DVDs or something?

You still need a tv licence even if you only do watch DVD's.

I think the Sky dish on the front of my house is a bit of a giveaway, though!

Leave a 'Virtual Aquarium' DVD playing on the TV. When the inspector arrives, sprinkle fish flakes for added effect.

hide the telly somewhere, like in your car or somewhere.

anyway, you don't have to let them in and they they have no right to force themselves in without a court order.

i wouldn't worry about it, they're all bark and no bite.

What if they turn up with a court order on Friday?

Oh, and my TV is huge and weighs a ton. Carrying that down my narrow staircase will be a nightmare. Getting it upstairs took me and my mate 10 minutes!
