I just *love* this quote by the mother, "I blame the schools - sex education for young girls should be better." How simple does she want it?! Have sex without a condom and you may get pregnant?! I don't know about you but I knew about all this stuff in year 7?

Aye right! Nice excuse... I think all schools in the UK have good sex education classes. Ours are very detailed... :roll:
Jeez the message is pretty clear! You don't even need sex ed to know that having unprotected sex is possibly going to bring a child (or STD!). :roll:

Why do mothers of gymslip mums blame the schools for lack of sex education? Yes, the schools should give good sex education but the responsibility more importantly lies with the parents.
The fathers are not present, why? There is also the issue of underage sex here.
These are not the first young girls to get pregnant and sadly they're not going to be the last.
Someone was talking to me today about this story and apparently the 12yr old was into the third tri-mester before her excuse for a mother found out
It's sad she couden't tell her mother about something as important as this.
My fella and i have educated his children to the best of our knowledge, on...sex, std's,drugs and self defence. They are probably far more street wise than your average teenager. They all know that if they get into trouble they will get all the love and support they need with a bit of discipline thrown in for good measure. We took it upon ourselves to educate them because it is our responsibility to prepare them for the horrors of the big bad world out there.
It's shame more parents don't do the same if they think their kids are not being given the education that they should be getting.
