Trotter's Independent Trading

After browsing eBay out of pure boredom, I stumbled across some auctions that Del Boy and Rodney would be proud of.
Oh the irony of it all ...
"Microsoft Office 2003 Full Version NOT A COPY"
Also ...
Bloody hell, £18.50 mate for a CDR with "OFFICE 2003 PRO" written on in black marker pen. Your "10 DAY RETUNE" doesn't exactly inspire confidence either.
I wouldn't even give you £1 for it - and that includes P&P.
So, I was wondering - has anyone come across any listings that are obvious they've come off the back of a van?

I've got a copy of Office 1992 if anyone wants it? I've set the reserve at £78.

Ah, you have the MDF format disks (a proprietary Microsoft format which allowed them fit 1.9MB on a floppy disk), I've got the rarer 'backup disk set' which uses standard 1.38MB floppies - there's 31 of the buggers! And it takes over an hour to copy everything off them!
Anyway, weird stuff on ebay. Around 2002 a lot of people were selling 'secret ITV codes to get all ITV regions on Sky Digital'. Often packaged in the form of an 'engineering service document - for internal ITV distribution only'
What did these 'products' consist of? An explanation of how to use the manual tuning feature of a Sky Digibox, which as well as being fairly self explanatory anyway, is also printed in every Sky Digibox manual. And the frequency information for the 3 transponders, which were available on any number of websites.
Rather more disturbing, these ripoff merchants did actually have people bidding on these things.

To be honest, and FWIW . . .
http://www.microsoft.com/piracy/Reporting.mspx . . .
At the very least, these shuysters (sp) would end up getting their eBay accounts revoked.

anybody who thinks you can get a £300 for a tenner is incredibly naive.
i have contempt for anybody who spends their time searching ebay for pirated software and then reporting it. they really need to get a life.
