So, in I wrote, with a long and detailed excuse as to why their Penalty Charge Notice was without basis in fact, and what did I get in return? 3 pages.

The first page was an exact OCR of my document, with such phases as "We appreciate that" prepended onto every sentence with the tenses changed. The second page stated that payment was, in fact, despite their lengthy appreciation of my complaint, required, and detailed how to pay the charge. The third page continued to describe the unsightly punishments one would receive should their computer-generated refutation be ignored.

I told Neanderthal man that bipedal motion would lead to bad things but did he listen? No. And now we've got computers.

Always HAND write when replying to that lot, and badly is best.

If your signature is an example of yours, then EXCELLENT.

They can't ignore you, so if the computer can't read your writing, they HAVE to bring in one of those HUMAN people to do it.

EVEN if you end up having to pay, you have the utter satisfaction that it cost around seventy times what they budgetted in order to deal with you.

I think you should write his letter for him, Nick. You could use your superior linguistic skills to force them to drop the charges!
