I've searched loads but had no joy so far.

Could any of you Loungers help me in finding a map showing the boundaries of all the UK dialling codes?

I used to have a list of them but I can't find it.
Here is a BT site Clicky where you search for a particular dialling code and it says what area it is.

I know it's not a map but I thought it might help

It's not what I'm looking for, but thanks anyway, David.

I run a fax marketing company and I need to have a dialling code map to overlay a postcode map for more accurate searching, but to no avail so far, unfortunately.

I'm pretty certain there's no such thing. I've searched in the past and failed. Glad to be proved wrong if anyone else finds one, though.

It's fairly easy to get the grid reference of the exchange building which matches the first seven digits of a number (e.g. 01373-82), but that's about as near as I've ever got.

The grid reference and latitude/longitude list is here for what little it's worth, but as to boundaries and a map, I'm afraid the master is stumped!

Quite a long winded approach, but you could head down to your local library and look at each directory in turn and slowly put together a map for yourself. Although death could be a more exciting option!

The directories, certainly round here, only give the boundaries of the areas they, themselves, cover; not the boundaries of the individual exchanges within those directory areas.

I take it, johnnyboy, that you want to be able to directly equate 01373-82 to BA13, don't you?

I'm fairly certain BT used to sell paper copies of STD code maps - they used to be advertised in Phone Books. Whether or not they still exist, and whether there is an electronic version, I don't know.

I have one in my phone directory book (personal one). I'll try and upload the pages ASAP.

Actually, it would be nice to have something like that, although it's unlikely I would get it.

Most of my customers want searches by postcode districts, ie NE, G, M, L, etc.

For example, I know the Preston code is 01772, and the postcode is PR. If I got a request to run a PR search, I would combine both. Yes, it would be slightly inaccurate to some degree, but my punters wouldn't mind and it would give me a chance to increase billing revenue.

I appreciate everyone's help and am open to suggestions.

Sorry, i've just realised that there is no map with it, only a list of every place in the UK with a dialling code beside it. Would that do? If so, its in the BT Phone Book.
