Right, this has got me riled.

I have been banned from shoppingtelly.com for daring to ask how little Gems.tv workers in Thailand get paid, and whether they work for a sweatshop.

Graham, aka Webby, is censoring free speech because he receives advertising monies from Factory Outlet TV.

Do you think we should stand for this corporate censorship?

Do you think the voice of the Thai worker needs to be heard?

Do you think this could be time for MP247's first ever campaign, our first stand in the war of freedom?

Definately agree with you jb.

Have always found shoppingtelly.com very biased in moderation and don't visit much. It just annoys and offends me so I tend to avoid it.

But I'll certainly support your campaign jb. It could be the next big thing...

That website has never been editorially independent. It always stays on the side of the shopping channels even when criticism of them is justified.

Just had a look at the website (which I haven't done in ages) and I see the vomit-inducing habit of making virtually every bit of text on the page animate continues..

How about a timed mass invasion of the site?

All make the same post in different threads five times to make sure that Webby knows his reign of 'terror' is close at hand.

I think you have a point, marksi!

I have just registered on there as "The Ghost of Jean", as, apparently, she and Webby had some sort of argument a little while ago and Webby gets funny at the mention of her name.

No idea what the argument was about though.

It wasn't that long ago that 'Webby' was going to auction shoppingtelly.com as he said he couldn't cope with the 'abuse' he was getting from Bidup's marketing department.

It all came about when Situp’s marketing department pressed Webby to disclose that their competition Auction World had, at the time just received their first OFCOM warning and released details of losses amounting to £5 million. Since shoppingtelly.com was apparently balanced, I would have thought it was no big deal to feature this shopping telly story. But he didn’t, instead claimed pressure from their PR department that made his position untenable and continued to support the highly corrupt auctionworld.

The man is a loon and really does no favours to shopping telly; making it every bit as cheesy, the image of which channels like bid and price drop are trying to get away from.
I say it only because I'm good looking...

Surely the other side of the coin of free speech is that Graham is free to allow or disallow comments to be published on his site as he wishes?

Does he make any claim that his site is impartial or balanced? If not, then you (and I) may disagree with his editorial decisions, but he's not fundamentally doing anything wrong is he?

The web being what it is, you are free to exercise your right to free speech here at Metropol and elsewhere, or by setting up your own site on a level playing field with shoppingtelly.com

I dislike the site and its editorial stance, so I simply don't visit it. But then I have no interest in shopping channels.

We could bring that site down, very easily!

I suggest we completely bombard it with crap, and bring down the servers.

Even better would be to hack it!

I'm all for bombarding it but is it just a telly shopping forum or a random forum like here. I've never of heard of it but I'm in a riot mood at present

The entire thing is completely biased. It's a joke.
