Playing wav files in Adobe Audition with Internet Explorer

I used to be able to click on a link to a wav file in Internet Explorer 6 and the file would open and play in Adobe Audition. Now I just get the Save and Cancel options. I'm not 100% certain, but I think this behaviour started when I installed XP SP2.

Any of you geniuses out there got any suggestions for how I can correct this?

Go to the control panel, open folder options, scroll down to the "wav" extension, click the advanced button, untick the box circled in the screenshot. Then close all windows for it to take effect.

Thanks for the reply Chris. I tried that and I now initially get a dialog with Open, Save and Cancel.

Clicking Open gives me the Save and Cancel dialog as before.

This file is neither corrupted or an incorrect file type as I can happily play the file if I save it.

This is very frustrating!!

I sorted it!! I temporarily changed the wav association to Windows Media Player, and that worked fine. Then I changed it back to Adobe Audition, and that now works.

Frankly I'm avoiding SP2 like the plague until I have an obvious need for it.
