I'm suposed to be dj-ing at my friends 18th this friday and all my cds have gone walkies (Lucky for me i had copied them to my laptop). So I got to thinking, rather than copy all 153 songs back from my computer on to cdrs would it be possable to use my laptop instead? or would that be impossable.

my dj kit (Apex DJC 230 double CD) includes two speakers about half a meter in diameter. would it be possable to run these from my laptop or will i have to spend all night burning cds?

thanks for your time.

Most mixers etc have a line in, use the laptops line out/speaker out into the line in, wola. Everything you play should go into the mixer and into the speakers.

Using basic tools like having two winamps and play from each can produce fairly good/pro results.

You will probally need a mini jack to phono lead, most mixers use phono and most laptops use minijack..

Oh, and remember to have a backup just in case the laptop crashes for whatever reason mid song ... ;)

Well, that was a HUGE desaster.

after being told (Repeatedly) what to play, EVERYONE complained about the music being crap.

and I got the blame  .

I don't think i will be doing that ever again. :(
