If you thought like that all the time, then you'd just end up a hermit on the Internet all day!

You never know when you're next shagging buddy/girlfriend is going to walk into your life.

With me it seems to be a regular pattern...

Have a girlfriend for a few months and then get horribly dumped

Go around flirting like hell with any girl, have a couple of shags perhaps

Find your next girlfriend all of a sudden, then get dumped a few months down the line.

It's a vicious circle full of emotional hatred and heartbreak. It's all part of life unfortunately.

I disagree. That all sounds like Freudian claptrap, I'm afraid, CraigF, and of course Freud only thought that everyone was obsessed and driven by sex because he was. I'm sure he only invented the concepts of "ego" and "id" because he wanted something with which to impress bored rich Viennese housewives before he bedded them. I think Freud was a twat. That's my considered opinion, anyway, and I know it's rubbish but there you go.

There could be all sorts of reasons for getting into an emotional "cycle" like that. For a start, it might not be a cycle at all, it might just seem like it. I don't know.

As for decision-making, well. Everything has knock-on consequences. Most of life is just educated (or otherwise) guesswork anyway. Had I not done temp work in a certain place two years ago, or studied the certain units on my masters I did, I wouldn't have got my current job. Then again, I may have got another job which I may have preferred.

Unless you believe in predestination, of course.
