ShoppingTelly/Editorial Bias

I don't want to rock the boat any more than it already is over there so thought I'd ask the question here.

What do you think of ShoppingTelly.com's stance in not reporting bad press about Auction World?

It seems the marketing department from rival bid-up.tv have been puting pressure on ShoppingTelly to report these instances of bad press.

Do you think ShoppingTelly show an AuctionWorld bias? Should they continue to do so?

It seems now the site is up for auction to the highest bidder.

In my own personal opinion: I think it's fairly clear from the banners that Shopping Telly has a slant towards Auction World as opposed to bid-up.
Auction World have been very good to the site with behind the scenes visits etc but that shouldn't stop them from reporting the good and the bad.
Surely a simple solution would be to report news impartialy while maintaining good links with the individual companies. TV Forum got featured on the BBC's Liquid News but that did not cause the entire site to to sensored to reflect the BBC in the best light - what's the difference between it and ShoppingTelly?

The guy who runs that site seems to be completely off his rocker.

It turns out he refuses to report OFCOM decisions because another shopping channel "fraudulently" used genuine customer comments about a product on an infomercial.

It is a reasonable request from bid-up to ask shoppingtelly to report Auction-world's difficulties.

Yet, he flies off in a hissy fit and wants to sell everything.

His avatar of Marco from BB5 seems quite appropriate.

I have registered on the site to give my two-pennoth worth of opinion as to this claim of, "bullying at the hands of Bid-Up.tv".

I think its outrageous and appalling that this webmaster wont pass vital information on to his readers. He's as guilty of misleading his punters as Auction World is with theirs.

I have yet to receive my permission to post on the site, but rest assured I will.

That is absolutely hilarious. No really…it made me laugh out loud.

You know full well that the guys at Bid-up are pissing themselves laughing at ‘Webbys’ attempts to redeem some kind of credibility following all of this. He claims not to publish accusations of internal dispute on his website such as the OFCOM report, yet reports on Tony Blackburn’s suspension! Plus everywhere you go on his web site you see those god-awful banners advertising that rip-off of a channel.

It’s quite interesting to read that auction world are making losses that are quite so staggering. It amazes me that with the obvious millions they have invested in presentation (and you have to admit, they are not so cheap as far as shopping channels go on this front) yet have screwed up the backroom functions like delivery! Its ridiculous!

In any case, Webby is just steamed because he’ll have to go out and find a proper job now I’m sure.

Bid-up will get the last laugh and as well they should. Bid-ups guides are no way near as inflated as Auction World plus they have got their P&P sorted! I also have a feeling that before long, certain lots over a certain price won’t have P&P!…Just a feeling.

I think Shoppingtelly does have a deep AW Bias. Just look at their Banner on the forum.
Bid-up.tv are wrong to take legal action to stop Duncan Pow from working at Auction-world.tv. If bid-up.tv were so desperate to keep Duncan they should have given him better prospects.

If sit-up think that AW is a small rival then they should Let Duncan work at Auction-world. If they think they are a BIG rival then they should treat their presenters better.

Did all the other presenters who left bid up for AW go thru a similar experience? I know that AW have poached most of bid ups presenters in the past!

At not stage has Auction World.tv "poached" any presenters, it has been their choice to approach another channel!

Of course he later contested that he edited it by mistake. In nearly a year of doing this not once have I ever made that mistake.
