Why won't they leave me alone?

One just came out of the number bit in my keyboard, it was as big as your head.

This is what you get for leaving the door open -- they think they can just wander in and make themselves at home.

I thought I might have got away with it, maybe it'll be a good year for spiders, but no. They seem to have brought out these new jumping spiders this year and I'm not happy. The cup and card trick just won't do.

They're everywhere and they're looking at me.

Oh god tell me about it!

I didn't realise the little jumping ones existed until a year ago, when on a sunny morning in May I was lying i bed and noticed little shadows walking on my curtains. I got up and inspected, and found several little black stripey spiders scuttling away.

I couldn't understand how they got in as the windows were shut. But then I noticed one of them sneakily squeezing though the TINY gap between the window and the frame.

Ever since, and on a hot sunny day they appear with those pulsating white pincers at the front of their head. Horrible horrible little buggers.

I really start wetting myself when I see those big hairy bath spiders though. Garages, lofts and garden sheds are the best place to have one land in your hair or scuttle away behind a tin of paint.

Some of them are MASSIVE! I'm not exagerating, but I saw one on the chimney in my loft a year or so ago and it's total size was sufficient to cover a tea plate!

I quite like spiders, actually.

Yes I think we have. Its the only possible explaination.

I hate the little gits too. People are always telling me that you should leave them hanging away in the corners of the room because they will eat the flies. Firstly I don't want any such process occuring near me, and secondly... they also have free rein to run over your face when you are sleeping, potentially laying eggs wherever the hell they want. In your ears for instance.

No thanks. Be gone with them.

An armadillo or otter maybe...

Anyone remember the scene in the film Arachnophobia in which a character was sitting on the toilet and a spider comes up the toilet to give the poor guy a nasty surprise.

Now that is something I find quite uncomfortable to watch!

Rather ironically though, it's the ickle tiny non-threatening looking spiders that you need to worry about. The big hairy kind, in general, are much less capable of doing you any actual harm.

In what generally seems to be an 'either you love 'em or hate 'em' scenario, I'm actually in the middle ground. On the one hand I won't go beserk at the site of a spider, and some varieties I actually think are quite nice to look at, on the other hand I definately aren't into the little beggers crawling on me, and certainly aren't one of these people who removes an offending arachnid by directly picking it up - there will need to be some sort of catching aparatus involved.

When I went to bed last night, I had a spider come down from the ceiling and start crawling on my nose.

Not a nice feeling I can tell you.

Summer is too Spidery.

I always get them in my room at night and i end up sleeping downstairs. Eventually, I picked up the courage to watch them from my bed until they creeped into a whole. I think it's in my roof somewhere. Which makes me happy because my bro lives in the loft Bastard spiders!

Youd hate to live in Australia, you thinks its big here... ever seen them Super Sized?!

I like spiders personally. If I see one in the house I will leave it alone no matter how big or small.

Some of the tiny little ones are quite cute actually. I've been watching such an insect gliding down it's tiny web in various parts of my bedroom for a few days now,

I have acute arachnaphobia.... cant stand them, and I have occasionally freaked out at work when I have seen one on a dusty shelf. Slugs as well.
