Hi

I have been getting this strange toolbar on Internet Exploer 6 its called "First Info" ,Every site it keeps on changing its searchbar I.e

If I look on ITV it does TV Repair,TV Antena etc

I have ran Lavasoft but it hasn't sorted the problem :( (And i didn't install it.)

It would be apperciated if some on could help me with this problem.

Welcome to the murky world of spyware and malware.

This bar seems suspicious - it seems to have a certain feature for monitoring keystrokes and then displaying adverts for them. And in any way, it is a security risk.

Download Hijack This and paste the log here. Then we should be able to get to the root of the problem :)

To do a screenshot, press print screen, paste it to paint/photo editor and then save it as a PNG (preferred) or JPEG. If you do not have any hosting, I can host it for you.

Email your screenshot to pipex dot trashcan at dsl dot pipex dot com

Replace the dots and at with . and @ - its to keep spammers at bay ;)

With an IE window open, just press the PrintScreen key (or PrntScrn) on your keyboard, then paste
the screengrab into any suitable graphics program such as Jasc PaintShop Pro or Adobe PhotoShop.

Then you can reduce the physical size of the image, and save it as a suitable PNG or JPG file.

(Oh, might as well get this out of the way . . . Ditch the hijack prone IE, and use Mozilla instead . . . ! )

Just press the print screen button and for example, pop into Paint Shop Pro and click on the edit function in the menu at the top of the screen and select paste into new window or words to that effect and you will have the image.
