"Vanilla" is synonymous with bland, I accept. Unless you really like the flavour. Which I do.

A fudge donut would be my other Greggs treat.

I don't think I've ever tried an arctic roll.

I'll approve of the fudge doughnut, very moreish. Arctic rolls in my opinion are so boring though if you like vanilla it might be a hit, essentially a frozen solid cylinder of that cheap ice cream which is more ice than cream with a thin sponge layer around it.

I never understood why when down in Bristol, I had vanilla slices (food of the gods, whatever nini thinks) which were approximately twice the size of those from up here in Leeds. Both from Greggs too.

There's a long established bakery in St Andrews (up in Fife) who produce the best fudge donuts known to man.

An Edinburgh patisserie has a tray of them delivered in the morning and they're usually sold out within the hour. I used to send drivers for the firm the long way round their delivery run to bring me some back.

I know what arctic roll is now you've described it. Its dull.

I don't have a bread bin. I wanted one but then it turned out they were pricey, or at least the nice ones were. Plus by that time I realised there was no room for the thing on my bench therefore rendering it redundant.

Bread lives ontop of my never used espresso machine so that I actually remember I have the stuff and therefore potentially can actually use some of it before it goes off.

The best bread for dates imo is the hovis crustless 50/50 loaf and the big kingsmill 50/50 loaf. Both of which are pricey but the latter of which is on offer in tesco. Or was on tuesday anyhow.
