Think of them as sort of shop you get in Peacocks type towns. But with an attempt at a trendier brand.

Bit rude, I wouldn't say Store Twenty One is trendier then Peacocks, their stores are a dive and the clothes look like tat.

Peacocks after coming out of administration looks a lot better locally with stock you might actually buy.

Do My Local still stock Morrisons own label products, or is it all branded items these days?

I go past a store on my way to work each morning, past the distinctive home-printed signs that they've sticky-taped over the old opening hours (which doesn't look terribly professional...). To be honest, I hadn't actually realised they'd been sold, though that probably should have been a giveaway.

I've never heard of Store Twenty One. Were they regional?

The stores I'm aware of tend to be in former Woolworths and/or tend to be in smaller secondary towns that don't have the big names.

To show this, the ones within 50 miles of me being in Brighouse, Heckmondwike, Batley, Wakefield, Pontefract, Nelson, Middleton, Bury, Openshaw, Accrington, Salford, Swinton, Crystal Peaks, Wigan, Goole, Newton-le-Willows, Warrington, Leek, Retord, Mansfield, Runcorn, Gainsborough & Winsford.

Notice with one or two exceptions none of the big northern towns or cities.

I've never been in one as I'm not a cross dresser but the look of the stores branding from the outside is a lot more comtempary to my eye than say a Peacocks. That's not a comment on the clothing of either store.

Five years ago they were trying to go for young adults - they had a lingerie range from Katie Price for example. It then looked like they were about to collapse - there were reports of rent going unpaid and their Venda-powered ecom presence was shut down without notice. Since then they have gone very mumsy and I think have been trying to attract Bon Marche type customers.

BBC Breakfast didn't seem to have any footage of My Local shops yesterday so they just showed a number of shots of old M Local stores. I doubt Morrisons will be that bothered (it was a short segment), but it did look like their local stores were shutting down all over again.

Came past the Ipswich My Local last night and all the fridges were empty and the shop looked like it was being stripped of remaining stock. Don't know if it is open today or not?
