Basically it's a "corner shop" brand like Costcutter with corner shop prices trying to compete now with Tesco Express... which is cheaper so what hope have they at lasting? If any former Morrison's My Local's are near a Tesco Express or a Sainsbury's Local, then I cannot see how they will survive. I mean who wants Hertridge branded at higher prices than Tesco's or Sainsbury's own label brands for less money?

They wont. Whatever deal has been done, however it's been structured, those at the top wont have been risking their own cash. See also: Haldanes, Ugo, Kwik Save, Fresh Xpress.

Can't afford any celebrities now and probably won't give the staff any bonuses for appearing on screen.

I'm not a fan of the chain particularly, nor adverts starring staff (real or acted), but in fairness they are the first proper full format supermarket to pay their staff the Living Wage, which is to be applauded.

There is the caveat that they've removed sunday premium but I believe everyone still works out better off :)

At least it's finally the end of that Take That song on their ads after what must be nearly a decade now.

The Living Wage™ or a living wage?

So much for the new self-service tills all working properly. A couple of weeks back, till receipts weren't printing properly and today half of the tills were out of service.

Was in Nottingham earlier this week- the M Local in the train station is now a more expensive My Local- so now it's preferable to just go to the Tesco Express accross the road or the Sainsbury's Local down the street. Probably won't last there much longer!
