Alan Robson... Yeah, I've never forgotten that anybody still watching TV with a 4:3 set is a "sad luddite freak". Anyway, I thought that it turned out that 'Alan' was actually Johnnyboy messing about...or was it somebody else? I don't know, there seemed to be a phase sometime around then where some regulars were creating alter egos in order to troll for fun.

Ah, those were the days.

My local was dead last night... everyone was outside smoking, and I (an ex-smoker) had to put up with some drunk babbling on and on about his trip to the doctors. It made me consider starting smoking again...

Great! and now they're seriously considering plastering fag packets with diseased lungs a rotten teeth. I really don't want to see these pics when i go to light up. So if this the way we're going with health warnings perhaps booze should have gruesome images on the cans and bottles of diseased livers and all unhealthy food to be labelled with pics of obese people and heart disease pics.
Since the smoking ban i've cut down considerably. Today i've had one ciggie and it was lovely. I have no intention of giving up just yet as i still enjoy it.

Not "seriously considering", they ARE doing it. They actually consulted on it over a year ago- they had a website, asking people to pick the "most effective" images. I'm suprised it's taken so long for them to release the results.

Well since they are going to put these "health warning images" on all ciggie packets then the following also should happen within this Nanny State:
Every McDonalds/Burger King etc must display a life size picture of a Fat American
Every travel agent must have posters showing graphic pictures of air/rail/sea accident fatalities
Every payslip must include a picture of the greedy Chancellor collecting taxes for all the things we are not supposed to do!
