Sadly the Lloyds side sold your wealth to the TSB side, and vice-versa.

The upshot is it's gone.

Been thinking that myself!

What is the Co-operative's uniform like? I only ask as I noticed some staff in my local 'East of England Co-operative society' store wearing a new uniform the other day, with a yellow shirt and a black jacket, and that goes right against the blue logo and green in-store colours, and was wondering if maybe the society stores are getting the uniforms used everywhere else?

Saying that, I've seen a new logo used for the stores recently, which looks a bit more fitting with 'the Co-operative' branding used everywhere else. Instead of:

we've been seeing a lot of:

It sort of looks like there's a rebrand afoot, but in a real pick and mix kind of way. That new logo is used for the EoE Co-op's twitter feed, but not used on their website or on shopfronts, but I did notice a store using it the other day for one of their own Microsoft Word notices.

Can anyone shed some light?

The thing is, with any local branding, unless they opt out of using CWS/The Co-operative Group as their supplier (unlikely!) they're going to have to either embrace the flagship brand (which they're entitled to do at no cost), embrace elements of it, or just look mis-matched. Like Scotmid, EoE seem to like doing their own thing...

Noticed similar things at the Newton Abbot branch today - all new green signage installed everywhere, with what appear to be stick-on Vinyls with the Lloyds TSB logo put over the fascia and flagbox sign (all marked as 'Temporary Sign'), clearly ready to pull off and reveal a different logo underneath.

Is there any real reason to have 'temporary sign' written on temporary signs like that. Is it just in case people think it looks a bit shit and the banks are just acknowledging the fact it looks so and they don't want people to think they couldn't afford a better sign?

The green branch name sign is very classy. Looks like Lloyds have really done a nice job with both their own rebrand and the TSB one.

I did notice however that on the TSB Careers website there was mention of it being an ethical bank. I wonder whether this is a vestigal effect of the planned co-op involvement or whether Lloyds were trying to do something different with it.

I always thought the "temporary sign" thing was something to do with planning permission, but can't find much on Google, so I may have just made that up.

Update: I'm becoming more convinced that's what it is for, but found a couple more relevant planning apps in my web searching. One on Leeds City Council website and Gateshead too.

That would make sense. I'm sure I've seen the discussion on this website before, but I couldn't remember what the outcome was.

Hmm, that Gateshead Council planning application had some nice visuals, it's just a shame the council couldn't scan them well or procure a website with basic download-that-actually-works function on it. So here's an image:

In around a months time the Lloyds brand will disappear from Scotland, BUT could lloyds open up new branches in the coming years to grab new customers? or are there not allowed?
