Does the job. Reminiscent enough for logophiles while still moving with the times. In banking terms it's miles better than say the most recent Abbey logo for example.

^The actual final Abbey logo was the same as Santander's. I assume you mean the shortlived previous one? It did seem rather soft for a bank (thanks to both the font and the pastel colour scheme), when it should be serious.

Abbey did have another logo for a couple of years in between the 'Umbrella Couple' logo and the soft pastel-y one. The 'Because life's complicated enough' one,their best in my opinion. The new TSB logo is ok, it's certainly not fantastic. But Lloyds aren't exactly going to spend a massive amount on a logo for what will soon be a competitor

The chimney on the umbrella has been a give away for years.

more guff in the post about TSB including a booklet explaining such delights as "cashpoint" shall be known as "cash machine" and "phonebank" shall be "telephone banking".

The branch in Edinburgh city centre has nicely pre-dirtied the front of the building ready for the signage.



I must note it's a shame they aren't restoring some of the original fixtures by the look of it. I wonder if they'll reuse the glass TSB logo on the St Andrews branch which currently is done in Lloyds TSB colours.

Yes, they are. Cheltenham & Gloucester appear to have got first dibs on the crap temporary signage, but there's at least one branch of Lloyds TSB I've seen with the temporary boxy signage (Sherwood, Nottingham).

As I understand it, there are planning "issues" with the Devizes C&G branch. It's Grade 64 listed, or whatever the highest one is, and is in what was once the Town Hall.

It might just have to be the C&G for evermore!

But that's one of the branches that's to become a TSB. In the literature sent to customers, there is no mention of Lloyd's TSB branches reverting to Lloyd's. The two separate banks are referred to as "Lloyd's TSB" and "TSB" throughout. Could well be a longer term aim to revert to just Lloyd's, but it doesn't look like it's happening any time soon.

Sorry WillPS, just realised you may have been answering Pete's second question re temporary signage. Point still stands re the first question that a rebrand to Lloyd's doesn't seem to have been mentioned anywhere.
