Damnit that's about the closest you can get to the perfect british advert. I was impressed by it and then as it started to finish I thought "well that's fab but it takes itself seriously", but then came the self-deprecation.

Animal charities want Costa Coffee to drop advert that stars monkeys
Campaigners say Costa Coffee should lose its Rainforest Alliance certification if it continues to use primates to promote its brand.

I didn't even see the advert, but the moment I read 'Can a monkey make a cup of coffee - Find out at 8 on ITV 1' (Or something along the lines of that) on the bottom of Metro I knew there would be trouble.

All those monkeys look like they're having a great time - why are animal charities being so prissy?

Its not as if they're being choreographed like they were when they used them to make PG Tips.

One of their arguments is the advert encourages people to keep monkeys as pets.

What they've forgotten amid their fit of self-righteous moral indignation is that, unlike owls, clownfish and meerkats, you need a licence to own Old World monkeys (monkeys found in Africa and Asia, as opposed to the Americas) such as Rhesus macaques, colobus, langurs and baboons.

I don't like how the confused.com advert says (or at least implies) that the Internet was invented in the 21st century.

Gets my goat.
