This is it, I think; the behavior from the "METROPOL assholes" smacks of a clique (who have for years dominated/controlled/subverted a community) reacting to what they see as a threat. Tell me I'm wrong if you like.

But to me, the ChatPS clique (and I use that word decisively and with full understanding, by the way) just seem to be a bunch of narcissitic circlejerking sycophants whose desire for a 24/7 chat room to spout your attempts at neo-post-modern subversive "humour" belies your reliance on each other's validation of each others' foibles and insecurities.

You delude yourselves into believing that you are akin to the great satirists of our time, rising above the grey sludge of everyday homogeneity and a perceived hegemony to create an entity which creates that most elusive of fallacies: the promise of freedom. Yet the utopia you have spawned is merely another Alcatraz but with different guards on the gates, different meals and slightly different paint on the walls.

In truth, the ChatPS project has done nothing worthwhile except pevert the laudable concept of satire and pisstaking to dangerously mundane levels which neither interest nor stimulate others to engage with you on any level, whilst having the simultaneous effect of creating the very thing you now parrot as an accusation against others.

You may have not evolved in 10 years, but I, and a lot of others have. I'm leaving TVF, true, but despite some headbutting with certain folk, I see no reason to flounce from Metro at this present juncture. It gives me no shame however to wish that perhaps it would be best if you saved yourself the ignominy of the button and retired gracefully (if possible) from slating something which you have happily exploited in the past for your own baser desires and netizen needs.

You like to use big words when you have no idea what you're on about, don't you? I would like to point out that I've never called this place boring, and I don't think anyone else has. Also Bilky: LOVING that you've done the classic strawman thing of levelling an accusation against metro mods with no evidence, then turned around and basically said "I'M NOT THE ONE ON TRIAL HERE" when asked for some.

I haven't levelled an accusation with no evidence - Pete misinterpreted what I was saying. If anything, Pete set up the straw man through his "misinterpretation".

The first part of your post is merely a contradiction of the party line.

I'm not sure what naming them achieves, other than revealing an obsession with logging such things. I wasn't suggesting you had a huge amount to deal with, but I was saying that is the main focus of the moderation.

It would achieve you giving an example of why the moderation here is so terrible and spiteful. In fact the vast majority of moderating on here consists of
1. fixing nested quotes
2. deleting spambots that have slipped through the net

and that's it.

Sorry - let me draw a distinction here between Metropol [24/7] - the forum primarily for chatting about retail stuff and other general discussion and Metropol, the clique which seems to have its origins tied to the olden days of TV Home Forum (Crossroads, chat etc.).

I have no issue with the prior (I rather like it, in fact), but feel as though the latter are picking on those involved with ChatPS as they perceive them to be a threat to their own clique. Oh, and for your information, alexia, I didn't regard you as anything to do with the Metropol clique - so you can drop the 'our', 'we' etc.
