Does anyone else experience this error where some posts have partial red backgrounds?

The first problem there is the fact that you're using IE7.

The design is absolutely stunning, a true work of art. It really jumps out of the screen!

Yes, me too (also on IE7). When a thread first loads the uppermost post is all red, but this reverts to normal if you scroll down and back up again. However, it returns if ever your mouse passes over a link (either button or hyperlink).

Right then. Good morning everyone, I've just had a lovely sleep and am now all ready to face a day without staring at metropol for 10 hours non stop like yesterday.

Anyhow, last night, before 1am. I fixed the problem pad pointed out with the login error notification, made all the login pages use the tsk card design, moved the logout text to the right of the icon, moved the members link to properly fit the new header, fixed the stray bullet point that was breaking the logon screen in safari, and made the footer 10px higher as Mr Q thought it was a bit cramped looking before.

URGH. I thought I'd fixed that. Seriously I tried and tried for days on that one but it's some sort of IE bug that I can't seem to fix. Saying that however something has came into my head that might work, but I hold out little hope. The manner in which the problem manifests itself and then vanishes with a scroll suggests its a problem with IE rather than the code which would make it very difficult to fix easily. I'd just go for firefox personally :P

Roll on <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=8" />. That should fix the bastard.

I'll have a play in IE 7 at some point in the next few days. I'll have to use it properly to find bugs such as that one.

I also know that there are a few pages where the footer isn't working properly and overlaps the bottom of the content but there are ways around that.

As for mobile version for denman and chums, what will probably happen is I'll just install a mirror of the software on /lite and set it to use subsilver2 (the old fashioned table based layout) so if you want to use your mobile you can go there and its linked into the live database. It worked for two months at /mpbeta with this skin so there's no reason why it shouldn't work for the mobile version :)

Someone asked if we could do a 60x60px icon for Metropol for use with iTouch / iPhone. You might have got the same request, Pete, but I thought I'd stick it on the back burner til you got the site sorted.

I might be getting hold of an iTouch myself shortly, so it would be nice.

*Fascinating Fact*
Double-clicking on those scrolly pictures makes them appear in full view :)

Any chance of the log in page text being slightly smaller. Not sure if intentional but in 1024x768 (Firefox) it's massive.
