The 10 items or less checkout is back!
(It should be fewer rather than less)

This is the least of Morrisons worries. But anyway at least we can all go back to counting each other's items again in the queue.

"Yeah, hi it's David"
The way he's standing and talking at the beginning sounds as though he's about to ask someone out for the first time

"Not everyone wants to be herded to the self checkouts"
That's because they don't bloody work properly David! If that was the case, there wouldn't be the need for the express manned checkout.

My local Tesco has both self-service tills and express checkouts. When I want to buy a bottle of vodka, a LEGO blind bag, a Visa prepaid card, and use up 5 different Clubcard vouchers on other items whilst re-using three bags, the manned tills are much faster.Martin Phillp wrote:"Not everyone wants to be herded to the self checkouts"

Tesco self-checkouts don't let you buy gift cards/prepay cards at all, one of the few ways in which Morrisons' tills are superior.bilky asko wrote:My local Tesco has both self-service tills and express checkouts. And will they actually tell those dumpies that can't count and turn up with MORE than 10 items to sod off to another till? No they won't for fear of upsetting a customer! (I was told this by a Sainsbury's checkout girl when they had the old style 10 items or less).WillPS wrote:The lady manning the till doesn't seem too impressed by it.

This is where "Hand Baskets Only" is superior - a simple "sorry, baskets only" usually gets the message across.simonipswich wrote:And will they actually tell those dumpies that can't count and turn up with MORE than 10 items to sod off to another till? That reminds me of an anecdote I was told: how Marks & Spencer would never use note-checking equipment, because they thought it was tantamount to accusing the customer of being a fraudster; therefore, it was an ideal place to offload your dodgy notes.
