Still not back up. That's 31 hours now.
EDIT: Just seen the Tweet. There's now an emergency forum at http://tvfi.co.ukThis is very hard for me to write, but here's the situation:
Today I made a terrible, terrible blunder which caused the forum to go offline. In fact, the forum was deleted from the server. I've spent the last 6 hours trying to fix the faults. Unfortunately, despite all our best efforts, all attempts to get a back-up of the site online have failed. Which means, sadly...
We have to start again.
It'd be strange if they were in a different database.Philip wrote:I would be surprised if Asa didn't already do regular backups, I wasn't there when it happened but I don't think he would take his chances after the 2003 crash.
Are the posts handled separately from things like user, sit, avatar etc?
In your professional opinion, should the forum have been backed up on Asa's LS-120 drive?WillPS wrote:It'd be strange if they were in a different database.Philip wrote:I would be surprised if Asa didn't already do regular backups, I wasn't there when it happened but I don't think he would take his chances after the 2003 crash.

I'd be rather surprised if he did, given the level of his attention to detail in all other areas.Philip wrote:I would be surprised if Asa didn't already do regular backups
